Liguori Publications is a Roman Catholic Publisher based in the St. Louis, MO area. All of our publications are educational and pastoral in nature. Perhaps our most well known product is Liguorian magazine. We also publish Sunday parish bulletins, youth and adult catechetical materials for parishes and religious education programs, pamphlets and both hard and soft cover books that inform and inspire the heart. Our mission, a collaborative effort of Redemptorists and laity is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ primarily through the print and electronic media. Acquisition Editor – Libros Liguori
As an Acquisition Editor for Libros Liguori, our Spanish-language line of religious materials, you will work with authors to develop a manuscript while exhibiting excellent editing, a solid grounding in Catholic beliefs and practices and the ability to work within a vision and focus established by the publishing house. While reporting to the Managing Acquisition Editor, you will work in collaboration with other acquisition editors and marketing staff to identify new market and product niches.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in English or Journalism; Theology helpful
• Firm understanding of Catholic faith and practices
• Ability to acquire, evaluate and develop manuscripts
• Excellent communication and networking skills
• Strong analytical and business skills
• Exceptional follow-through, author management, organizational skills and deadline management
• Knowledge of contracts and copyrights
• Desire to produce needed, well-developed materials
• Availability to travel
