Father John Connor, LC has been named Atlanta territorial director for the Legion of Christ. He replaces Father Scott Reilly, LC, who is moving to Houston, where he will lead the order’s efforts to serve within that local Church, which is one of the most diverse in the country.

“I’m excited – and humbled – by this assignment,” said Father Connor. “I’m filling big shoes in taking the reins from Father Scott. We all owe him a great debt for his leadership during the past couple years, which have been so difficult for all of us.”

In his new role, Father Reilly will be superior of the Legion’s Houston community, serve as local coordinator of apostolate and head the Houston men’s and women’s sections.

“After two terms as territorial director, I’m looking forward to this new assignment. I have been blessed over these past years to meet so many people around the USA and Canada. I’ve learned a great deal as well from bishops with whom I’ve had much interaction due to my responsibility. I look forward to my new assignment in the Archdiocese of Houston. It is a vibrant local Church led by a wonderful archbishop, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo,” said Father Reilly. ”I’m looking forward to working closely with the numerous Regnum Christi members in Houston; they have a reputation of enthusiasm and fun.”

Father Connor was ordained to the priesthood in 2001. He has worked in several different ministries which include dean of discipline at the Everest Academy in Madrid, Spain; chaplain in the missions of Michoacan, Mexico; and retreat director/spiritual director in the Regnum Christi Movement with a specific dedication to the integral formation of Catholic businessmen. He most recently served in the Legion’s development office, as local coordinator of apostolate in New York and as chaplain of the Lumen Institute.

Father Reilly was ordained in 1997. After several apostolic assignments, he became the first territorial director in Atlanta when the territory was created six years ago.

  1. Joder con el P. Scott. Lo mal que me lo hizo pasar en Cheshire. Ni una palabra amable, ni un detalle. Sí, que se vaya a servir a la "local church"...
